Nourish Knoxville will close out their Winter Farmers’ Market season with the release of the 2016-17 edition of the East Tennessee Local Food Guide. The full-color guide lists local farms, u-picks, CSA programs, and wineries, as well as restaurants, grocers, and artisan food producers using local farm products.

In addition to picking up a new local food guide, patrons will be able to shop for local produce, bedding and edible plants, meats, eggs, honey, prepared foods, crafts, and much more in the church’s fellowship hall. The early warm temperatures mean spring crops like strawberries, fresh flowers, and pea shoots are coming in early. Food trucks Retro Taco, Good Golly Tamale, Tootsie Truck, and Dale’s Fried Pies will offer up delicious meals in the parking lot.

Inside the church, Meryl Kerns of The Glowing Body Yoga Studio will host an all-levels yoga class at 10:30 a.m. for $10 per participant. The American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists will answer general health and medication questions, and the Knox County Health Department will lead free children’s activities, including starting tomato plants to take home.

The Winter Farmers’ Market will be Nourish Knoxville’s final farmers’ market until opening day of the Market Square Farmers’ Market on Wednesday, May 4, 2016.
