Mike Hammond’s  “Open Mike Night” is rapidly growing into a monthly favorite event of mine.  Each month Mike Hammond brings in a wide array of musical talent.   Most are local unsigned artists who perform for the love of music and the hope of being discovered.  Among the local talent that performed last night was Sydni Stinnett. She is a 7th grader at Karns Middle School here in Knoxville.

Last night featured some amazing talent. Headlining the show was Krystal Keith . Her performance was awesome. She performed a short set to allow her vocals to rest because she is on a major radio tour where she is required to do a lot of talking and singing.  However, she did not race out the door after her performance! She literally had her picture taken everyone who attended the show. She signed autographs for free and her manager was very media friendly! After signing autographs she hung out with her fans, shared stories, and really made the atmosphere amazing. I strongly encourage everyone to check out her music.

As for “Open Mike Night.” The crowds are getting bigger and bigger every month. It is sort of becoming a “Rat Pack” of Knoxville.  Great food, great music, and great camaraderie. Mike Hammond is the modern day  Humphrey Bogart of this movement ( yes Bogart was the original Rat Pack founder .)

Krystal Keith, takes time to pose for a photo with Mike Hammond (r) and me (l) after her awesome performance.
