Election Day Prayers and Community
~ from St. James Episcopal Church
St. James Episcopal Church will be open for prayer and quiet reflection on Tuesday, November 5 from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. The labyrinth will be open the entire time and Evening Prayer will be at 5:30 pm. We offer this not as a way to escape but rather to ground ourselves so that we may respond to others from a place of loving God and neighbor. There will be chili and games in the parish hall from 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. This is not a watch party, a time to debate, or an avoidance of the issues. We are making space to be together in what is an anxious time for many. We gather to bear witness that faith and community will help us to do justice, love mercy, and walk
humbly with God no matter the viciousness of political rhetoric or who gets elected. People do not have to be members of the Church to participate, All people are welcome.
St. James Episcopal Church is deeply committed to its mission of feeding and tending God’s sheep, which is manifested through our dedication to justice, love, and mercy. We humbly walk alongside those in need, actively engaging with our community and neighbors to provide support and assistance. By reaching beyond our church doors, we strive to create a welcoming environment that embodies inclusivity and compassion, ensuring that everyone feels valued and cared for. Our outreach efforts reflect our belief that together we can make a significant impact, and we invite all to join us in this meaningful journey of service and fellowship.
