Join me for a tele-town hall
I will be holding a telephone town hall to provide an update and answer questions regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. I will be joined by Dr. Martha Buchanan, Director of the Knox County Health Department, who will answer questions about what can be done to stay safe during the pandemic.
The tele-town hall will take place on Tuesday, March 24th at 5:30 EDT.
Our focus in the town hall will be the Coronavirus outbreak and how we can keep Tennesseans safe. I know their are a lot of questions regarding the virus, as well as its effects on our students, employees, business owners and others. We want to make sure everyone has the information they need to stay safe, as well as offer state resources to everyone who is suffering from its economic impact.
The town hall comes days after the Tennessee General Assembly passed a budget which provides $150 million to establish a new fund to cover public health and safety issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the budget provides $200 million to be distributed to our cities and counties for this fight and strengthens the state’s safety net for health and mental health programs for uninsured Tennesseans.
You can join the town hall by calling (888)886-6603 at 5:30.
