Tennessee Small Business Development Center to celebrate new location with ribbon cutting

The Tennessee Small Business Development Center in Knoxville, hosted by Pellissippi State Community College, is celebrating the grand opening of its new location.

The center, previously located in Market Square in downtown Knoxville, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony in partnership with the Farragut West Chamber of Commerce and Blount Partnership Chamber of Commerce at its new offices at 9721 Sherrill Boulevard on Feb. 25 at 3:30 p.m.

“We offer our clients services to help them start, grow and sustain their businesses,” said Gregg Bostick, director of the Tennessee Small Business Development Center. “The accessibility to where we are now is much more convenient for them. It’s also closer to our host institution, Pellissippi State.”

The ribbon-cutting event will include remarks from Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, Maryville City Mayor Andy White, Pellissippi President L. Anthony Wise Jr. and representatives from the college’s Workforce Development office.

Resource partners and Tennessee Small Business Development Center clients who have received the “Rising Star Award” will also be in attendance.

“We help celebrate their success, and we want them to come help celebrate ours,” Bostick said.

The Small Business Development Center worked with 420 individual clients in 2024. Year to date, it has already serviced around 60 clients.

“Our focus is to grow the small business ecosystem in the seven counties we serve to enhance the local tax base for the common good, and help people realize that dream of small business ownership that is the backbone of America’s economy,” Bostick said. “And to make sure that, as this region grows, we’re helping people do it in the most efficient way possible.”
