Muse Knoxville receives $25,000 from Food City for future Mini Food City

Muse Knoxville is excited to announce a generous $25,000 donation from Food City to create a brand-new Mini Food City exhibit, set to debut later this year. This interactive addition will bring fresh energy to the museum’s Live Smart, Stay Well area, one of its most popular spaces.

Designed to mirror a real grocery store, the Mini Food City exhibit will inspire hands-on, imaginative play while teaching essential life skills like decision-making, teamwork, and financial literacy. Young visitors can role-play as shoppers, cashiers, and stock clerks—encouraging social interaction, early math skills, and nutritional awareness in a fun, engaging environment.

“We are deeply grateful to Betsi James and the entire Food City team for their incredible generosity and commitment to fostering learning through play,” said Allison Comer, Executive Director of Muse Knoxville. “This partnership represents the power of community collaboration and its impact on the next generation of learners.”

The Live Smart, Stay Well area promotes healthy habits and wellness, and the Mini Food City exhibit will further enhance its mission by helping children understand balanced nutrition, food choices, and how a grocery store operates. Located in one of the museum’s most visited areas, this exciting addition will provide valuable lessons that extend beyond each visit.

Muse Knoxville is honored to partner with Food City to bring this vibrant new exhibit to life and is grateful for their commitment to enriching the lives of children and families in the community.
