“Turnout is down about 5% from two years ago and around 20 to 25% from four years ago,” Knox County Election Administrator Chris Davis told the Focus Friday.

Saturday was the last day of early voting. The ballot includes the party primaries for national and state races as well as the Knox County general and Town of Farragut Municipal elections which include seats for county commission, criminal court judge, assessor of property, law director, school board, and the Farragut aldermen races.

“While turnout has been steady, a good number of the phone calls we are getting now are about the presidential election. Frankly, most voters are just focused on November, and that’s a shame, because we have an election going on right now,” Davis said. General Election Day is Thursday, August 1.
