Mother Nature is putting on a show!  She is covering winter’s drab canvas by weaving a tapestry of beauty.  Only days from the official start of spring, the earth is bursting forth with new life and new growth.  Driving down the highway, we seemed to be surrounded by vibrant green fields, yellow “Easter” flowers, and trees in full bloom with colors of pink and snow-white.  The joy of spring brings with it the excitement of  Easter—Easter egg hunts, Easter bunnies, and new Easter outfits.

In today’s world, we are overwhelmed with news from so many sources.  Stories dominating the news range from a presidential election to Peyton’s retirement to basketball’s March Madness.  Yet, the greatest news is not new at all.  It is the age-old story of the birth of a King born in a manger and, years later, crucified on a cross for our sins.  Easter is the celebration of His resurrection.  He arose from the grave to give all who believe in Him eternal life.  Amid the joys of spring, it is so important that we not forget the true meaning of Easter.  By faith, we can have new life in Christ.  John 3:16, one of the most popular verses in the Bible, sums up the true meaning of Easter:  “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (KJV)

Happy Easter!  He is risen!!!
