It is the comment I hear most often from Focus readers:  I look for the Bible verse in your column.  When I first started writing for The Focus, I would sometimes include a favorite Bible passage in my true, human interest column.  When COVID-19 struck, it seemed words of inspiration were needed more than ever.  It was then that I started including a Bible verse every week.  This week the scripture is shared by Perry McGinnis along with his amazing picture of a bald eagle in flight.  Focus readers may remember Perry from previous columns in which much was shared about his life in the field of dentistry.  He retired as Dean from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi in 2001.

“It has been my favorite verse for many years and that all began when I was an avid runner and competing in road races,” Perry said.  “It did, in fact, give me strength and motivation to finish the race.”  In these days of dissension and unrest, perhaps this verse from the Old Testament will provide strength to others as well.

Words of Faith: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”  Isaiah 40:31 (KJV).  Be safe!
