TDS
Difficulties produce perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not fail.
Romans 5:3-5
A friend asked me what I thought was the central issue of this presidential election. Perhaps he was expecting me to say it was the border crisis with unvetted, unvaccinated illegals flooding our country, worsening crime, housing, drugs and human trafficking as well as stressing the healthcare system. Or perhaps he thought the Democrats’ damage to the economy and inflation was the principal issue. By the look on his face, he was shocked when I stated that the central issue of this presidential election is hatred.
Andrew Breitbart once said, “Politics is downstream from culture.” What he meant was people drive our culture, and politicians and government are reflections of the people. I believe Breitbart was right, but I think there is a more primary motive factor. Repeatedly down through history, the renunciation of God (apostasy) and the resulting moral decline led to the substitution of government for deity and cyclical waves of destruction. In the Bible, God referred to apostates as “stiff-necked people.” We have learned little from the lessons of history because we’re doing it again.
If you can vote against your own economic best interests and security, your children’s and grandchildren’s future and your own country as a result of Democrat and media-generated hatred of Donald Trump, you are one sick puppy. God help you and the rest of us who suffer as a result of your delusional TDS.
Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is an example of delusional thinking. A delusion is simply a misinterpretation of reality. If 100 people see a cell phone tower, but I interpret the tower as a device sending radio waves to control my mind, that would be delusional.
Delusions are characteristic of schizophrenia, manic depressive illness and other psychiatric problems. However, I believe delusions can be ideological. In other words, someone’s worldview can be so manipulated that their perceptions of reality become corrupted. The vilification of President Trump has caused some to become deranged and display TDS by acting in an irrational, if not insane, manner.
The last two weeks have been disastrous for Comrade Kamala and her Elmer Fuddish sidekick. The latest disaster was revelations of plagiarism in a book she published with another ghost (?) writer. In 1988 Joe Biden’s presidential campaign was destroyed by his plagiarism.
Not surprisingly, a recent Gallop poll revealed that more than two-thirds of Americans do not trust the media. In fact, the only loons who do trust Democrat debate moderators, the NY Times or who still watch “60 Minutes” after their lies about Hunter’s laptop, Democrats’ spying on the Trump campaign or, most recently, the CBS doctoring of Comrade Kamala’s answers, are overwhelmingly Democrats. The days of Walter Cronkite are over.
However, despite the media’s attempt to run interference for the Harris/Walz ticket, it is impossible to cover up plagiarism or Harris’ inability to answer questions or speak logically. Her latest word salad was in answer to a question about blue city crime where she rhapsodically spoke of “stars and constellations.” It reminded me of her foolishness regarding craters on the moon and yellow school buses.
And Kamala’s first decision as a presidential candidate was to choose the mincing Timmy Walz (who had trouble loading his own shotgun), instead of the popular Jewish governor of Pennsylvania. Obama shaming Black men for not wanting Kamala and the fatuous ad of actors portraying “real Democrat men” reassured no one of her competence.
A friend wrote to me that he is scared to death about this election. I share his concerns. In the last four years we have watched the destruction in America wrought by Obama’s third term with the Harris/Biden administration. Now, Democrats push Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, the most radical liberal progressive politicians to run for president/vice president in American history. The America we know will not survive a Harris presidency.
But I have hope.
Something just happened in my neighborhood. Some liberals began putting Democrat signs in their yards. Then, campaign signs for President Trump, Marsha Blackburn and Tim Burchett began to appear as a counter protest, and I added my own. Suddenly, the day before early voting began and after undeniable revelations of the inadequacy of Kamala and Timmy, the signs disappeared. Maybe the signs were stolen. It wasn’t me if that was the case.
Maybe the libs wised up. I doubt it, but it happens. I was once liberal, but so was Winston Churchill. And Ronald Reagan was once a Democrat in an era before Democrats became progressive and woke with the delusions of gender identity and TDS. A friend sent me a meme that read, “Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool…than to put a Harris sign in your yard and remove all doubt.” Maybe the neighbors just wanted to remain on rescue lists of other neighbors in case of an emergency.
I’m sorry if you find my words shrill. Metaphorically, Obama once said, “If they bring a knife, we’ll bring a gun.” Obama understood he was the leader of a movement to “fundamentally transform America” (his words). I understand Obama’s allusion to a Chicago street fight. President Trump gets it and is fighting to save the country and Make America Great Again. What kind of a person, movement or party would oppose reforming our country, reversing illegal immigration and halting profligate government spending, corruption and waste?
I understand the battle to save the country for my kids’ sake. My time is about over so the election results are less critical for me. Friends have even warned me that I risk investigation by the corrupt DOJ, IRS or condemnation from progressives, liberals, neighbors or even former church members. So be it. Like Martin Luther and Deitrich Bonhoeffer whom I recently wrote about, I stand on conscience, scripture, reason, prayer and faith in the soul of the American people who will say “No!” to devilish hatred and, like me, do the right thing in the privacy of the voting booth.
We must stand up and be counted. We must reelect Donald J. Trump because then, and only then, can the real work begin to reverse the insanity.
